About this Event
We welcome visitors to enjoy an educational tour of our farm where you can learn about the growth cycle of fungi, how we grow mushrooms and vegetables and also learn about the basics of fermenting vegetables. We will also go outside and see the composting system and learn how our used mushroom substrate provides fertilizer to our vegetables.

Tours will take approximately an hour and will happen rain or shine as it will mostly take place indoors. There is not much walking and no stairs. Children are more than welcome, and feel free to bring a chair if you would prefer to sit.

For more information email sales@WindroseLearning.org or call (260) 479-0122.

Travel Tip: We are located on the corner of Lafayette and Brackenridge, directly behind the downtown post office. Look for the Big Blue building with the giant mural on front stating “I can, We Can, You Can.”

About Windrose Urban Farm
Windrose Urban Farm is a 501c3 non-profit that creates opportunities within our community for individuals with special needs to grow their careers and cultivate their tomorrows. We do this through our urban farm in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana.

We have an indoor growing operation for specialty gourmet mushrooms. We also have an outdoor growing operation that supplies vegetables to our value added side of the business where our kitchen crew creates fabulous ferments such as kimchi, hot pepper sauces and sauerkraut. We supply local restaurants, and retailers as well as selling our goods at farmers markets and events.
