Event Details

This event is open to all ages. People can expect to see some of what Indiana's landscape may have looked like prior to European settlement. They will see herds of bison and elk, which are both historically native to northeast Indiana.

Our hike will take us on a 1.4 mile loop from our Education Center out around our forested sand dune.

We recommend that everyone wear clothing they are comfortable hiking in. We recommend hiking shoes, long sleeve shirts and pants, and bug spray. This hike will be cancelled in the event that weather conditions make it unsafe for hiking in the woods.

Pre-registration required

LC Nature Park
lcnaturepark.org

LC Nature Park is a 200-acre Park with herds of bison and elk grazing and browsing restored grasslands. Where wildflowers burst into bloom and children experience the magic of nature. LC Nature Park has nearly 5 miles of hiking trails, and ancient sand dune, and a fully renovated century-old barn for hosting educational programs. Our mission is to promote the learning of Indiana's ecosystems through camaraderie, food, and fun, experiencing natural landscape restorations, and protecting our native flora and fauna.

TRAVEL TIP: We are on the west side of Aboite (not to be confused with Aboite Center) Road approximately 1 mile south of Redding Rd off of US 24. About halfway between the I-69 interchange and Roanoke. If you have passed County Line Road heading west on US 24, you have gone too far.
