Save the Dates - 2021 Local Food Week
Local Food Week returns this September
Mark you calendars now for 2021 Local Food Week, Friday, September 17 - Sunday, September 26. Plan to participate in this region-wide, 9-day long event to connect with the local food and farms you love!
Let’s come together to learn, network and show our gratitude for our local food community and all they’ve done to feed us throughout the pandemic!
This celebration and appreciation of local food will include Farm Tours and Meet Your Farmer events at farms, markets, restaurants and other businesses across Northeast Indiana that bring local food from Our Land to Our Tables.
We are excited to work with many of our farm tour partners to offer Food & Farming Educational Activities during Local Food Week. In partnership with Parkview Health and our Northeast Indiana Farm to School Team, we will be working with a variety of community partners to offer educational programs to enhance our farm tour experiences.
If you’re a local farm, food producer, restaurant, market or food-related business, Local Food Week is a great way to build connections with consumers and your community. You can choose to host a tour or event on one day, or host multiple tours/events each day of Local Food Week! Click here to register to host an event or to sponsor this year’s Local Food Week.
2021 Local Food Forum & Expo now part of Local Food Week!
After the need to cancel our 2020 Local Food Forum & Expo, we are excited and hopeful for the opportunity to gather again as a local food community in 2021! Our 2021 Northeast Indiana Local Food Forum & Expo is scheduled for Monday, September 20 as part of our Local Food Week celebration!
We are returning to the Walb Union at Purdue Fort Wayne for this annual day-long event as we Learn, Eat and Mingle with local food farmers, producers, advocates, consumers, educators, professionals, and economic development leaders from across our 11-county region.
We are excited to announce that we’re expanding the Local Food Expo portion of the Forum to enable more farms, markets, producers, local organizations and community partners to participate!
The Expo is intended to give a space for our attendees and local food community to network and connect with each other.
Save the Date NOW - Monday, September 20 and watch our social media and website for more details coming soon! Early-bird registration will open in July!
Please share your ideas! As we finalize plans for the Local Food Forum & Expo, we’d love your suggestions! What do you want to learn? What local & regional speakers would you like to hear from? We value your thoughts.
Many Local Food Week tours & events will be outdoors and attendance and health guidelines at all Local Food Week events, including the Northeast Indiana Local Food Forum & Expo will follow all local pubic health guidelines in place in September.
