Come out to Springfield Acres to enjoy local food options in the sunflower fields! Gunthorp Farms will be serving pulled pork sandwiches from their local (literally next door) pasture-raised pigs and Junk Ditch Brewing Company will be on site serving beer & beverages!

Local musician Chris Robison of Robison Vibes will be playing music as well, so bring a chair or picnic blanket and hang out for awhile! It will be a local food celebration!

Greener Pastures is located on 15 acres or rolling hills pasture in the heart of Noble County, IN. Greener Pastures raises grass-fed and grass-finished lamb and beef. We have been raising hair sheep for 12 years. In the last 2 years we have become more serious about turning our hobby into a business. The flock has grown to around 65 animals. Our focus is on raising cross-bred hair sheep (Katahdin, Saint Croix, Dorper Cross). With rotational grazing, our animals get all the grass they can eat during summer months and all the hay they want during the winter!

Our meats are locally processed by a licensed butcher, USDA inspected, and packaged for resale. We have packaged freezer lamb and beef cuts available, with whole, half, or quarter cut meat available, as production and butcher’s schedule allows.

Maple Acres
Maple Acres is a 5th generation maple syrup producer located in southeastern Noble County near Chain-o-Lakes State Park. We have about 2,000 trees in production making roughly 500 +/ - gallons of syrup per season. The 100% all natural syrup is organically produced in the state-of-the-art facility on the Owen homestead. Using our maple syrup, we make value added products including pure maple cream, maple sugar, traditional maple leaf candies and maple chocolates.

Bloomingdale Gardens
The full-fledged urban community demonstration farm showcases conservation practices, like crop rotation, with six raised garden beds, educational signage, a food pantry and more. The gardens boast native plants, conservation gardening techniques, fruit and nut trees, berries, vegetables, herbs and more. It grows both annual and perennial plants, ranging from blackberries and persimmons to indigenous Pawpaw trees and heritage and heirloom and culturally significant plants, like Gaspé flint corn grown by the Micmacs (a Northeast Native American Tribe) and Mexican sour cucumbers. The food is free for anyone to harvest anytime and is also donated to Trinity United Methodist Church.

The garden is maintained by dedicated neighborhood volunteers as well as area students and organizations. Seeds for the garden are donated by neighbors, the Purdue Extension Office, and the Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District, or collected from the garden to reuse. The gardens are open to the public 8 a.m.-8 p.m. for self guided tours.

Our year-round produce market in Union Street Market at Electric Works called Plowshares at the Market makes fresh produce, other farm products such as eggs, meat and dairy, and prepared food products available seven days a week. 

Plowshares Mobile Market offers pop-up markets in neighborhoods where fresh produce is hard to find throughout the farm market season. 

The cooking class and food tastings are offered to make eating fresh and healthy easy for all. Plowshares Markets accept SNAP/EBT and Fresh Connect produce prescription cards as well as cash and credit/debit cards.
