Cupka’s Bee Good Meadery
Candy has lived in Auburn, Indiana her entire life. Tom moved from southern Indiana in 1995, where he had grown up on a Strawberry U-Pick Farm. Together they raised three children here and have been devoted to both their family and their community. Tom Cupka is a local pastor, with degrees in business and theology. Candy Cupka is an accountant and AVP with a successful career background in accounting and finance. In 2016, Tom and Candy made their first six gallons of wine and caught the artisan bug.
Just as fermented grapes gets you wine, and fermented hops gets you beer, fermented honey gets you a sweet, tasty batch of mead! Mead is a drink created by fermenting honey and water, often with added fruits, spices, grains or hops as chosen by the artisan. The alcohol content ranges from 8% to 16% (sometimes higher). The beverage can be sparkling, carbonated, or still and tailored to be dry, semi-sweet, or sweet. Mead is the oldest alcoholic beverage known to humanity, older than even wine or beer.
We offer carbonated craft meads on tap and bottled artisan still wines to try to meet the preference of every customer, including honey wine slushies and flights. In the tasting room you will find a relaxed atmosphere, delicious appetizers, and a friendly staff. Cupka's Bee Good Meadery, in keeping with its name, allows its patrons to suggest local nonprofits for the meadery to allocate funds to.
