Event details:
This event is for everyone! Come and visit The School of Education Urban Garden at Purdue Fort Wayne! Take a tour of our garden and learn about the many ways in which the garden has served as a hub for community engagement, a teaching space for college students and children, and partnered with the Friends of the Pantry at Purdue Fort Wayne to help address food security. Have fun and paint a rock to leave at the garden or take it home to your own garden. This is a child and family friendly event.

For more information email Julia Smith at smitj@pfw.edu or call (260)481-6517.

Travel Tip:
Both the Master Gardener Display Gardens of Allen County and the School of Education Urban Garden are located on the grounds of the Allen County Purdue Extension office on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus.

Purdue University Fort Wayne School of Education Urban Garden
The School of Education Urban Garden was founded in 2019 as a demonstration and teaching garden for students, faculty, and staff at Purdue Fort Wayne. Since its beginning, the project has hosted elementary age children for gardening activities and tours, held a farm to fork dinner at student housing, provided fresh produce to the food pantry on campus, and been involved in a number of other community events and activities.

The FRIENDS of the University Pantry at Purdue Fort Wayne is stocked with a variety of packaged and canned foods and helps food-insecure members of both the university – including students, staff, and faculty – and the community.
